I Love Doing Jillian Michaels!

Hey, you're right Kristen…that IS fun to say!  Oh, hi Sharon, uh, well, heh heh…yeah, uh, "doing Jillian?"  Um, well, hey, is that the kids crying?

Since the news has broken about my completion of the 30 Day Shred (looky here to see how I did) I've had to call Hollywood and tell them that I absolutely won't stoop so low as to be Brad Pitt's body double in any nude scenes, no matter how much they offer.  Instead, I'm going to spend my time doing Jillian (how many times do you think I can say this in one post?).  For the past couple of weeks I've already been adding in Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism and No More Trouble Zones on occasion to get a second workout later in the day (have I mentioned I need to take advantage of motivation when it strikes?) but now I may end up skipping Shred on some days to focus on those two videos.  Like today – instead of shred I started the day with Trouble Zones.

It feels very odd to start my day with something other than Shred.  I miss how easy it is.  :)

While TZ has similar moves to Shred, it's longer and focuses on strength.  There is a longer warmup, and then Jillian jumps into strength circuits.  I heard someone ask if she works abs.  There are ab circuits – maybe half of them?  I can't remember.  But they include crunches with chest presses.  !  Squirms.  !  Plank stuff.  !  Yeah, she works abs.  It's also strong on shoulders and triceps because, as she says, those are one of the few parts that people see naked all the time!  *laugh*

Overall it gives a much more thorough strength workout than Shred, and is WAY harder on the abs.  I was so tired after doing Jillian today (heh) that I could barely take a shower.  Just like Shred but more so.  And that seems like a pretty good thing.  The only thing you might miss is the cardio…all you get here is from not stopping.  Ever.  So I was really breathing and working hard, but it wasn't quite the same.  Of course, that's what Banish/Boost is for, and I'll talk about that another day.

I'm happy I did Shred for a couple of weeks before trying this video because it got me into better shape so I could do most of the exercises with better form and less resting.  I also think Shred is better about showing you beginner versions of things, so you can modify them if you need to here.  She does talk about modifications in this video, but for some reason it didn't seem as obvious to me.  As they say, your mileage may vary.

Over the past couple of days I've been checking out a bunch of the updates from Team Jillian people (I apologize if I missed commenting on yours, but I've got family in town…I do care about you though!) and I'm REALLY impressed with our team!  We've got people making all sorts of changes to their lives, dealing with challenges, but all still working hard and doing great.  And if you stumble, remember we're all here for you!  I haven't confirmed this suspicion, but I'd bet that members of Team Bob might be here to support you too.  ;)   So remember to email Kristen with your updates!

And speaking of teams, I've made an online signup sheet for both teams so we know who you are and how to follow you.  So head on over and sign up for your favorite team.  You can even sign up as an "undecided."

Finally, in the record keeping department, today is my Weight Watchers day, so it's time for my weight report (measurements come mid-week).  This week I weigh 195.4 pounds, which is down 2.2 pounds!  Holy shit!  So my total weight loss since last October is 42.8 pounds.  Yeah!  Go Team Jillian!

*Remember, please email Kristen your posts and info for the sidebar.*

LOL My hubs loves doing Jillian too. Which, considering all things, I don’t mind one bit. ;)
