Ab-postrophes

(note: this post is funniest immediately after working out when you’re short on oxygen, and you need to go here first to read about/order your shirt!)

When I started doing the 30 Day Shred in March, I was only looking for a way to speed up my weight loss.  I did’nt think I’d keep going…after all, once I was at my WW goal I was going to stop.

As Jillian says, “Think again, buddy.”

I ca’nt believe this, but Iv’e gotten to the point where I kind of like working out.  Do’nt get me wrong, i’ts a pain to carve out the time and the actual working out part is hard, but ther’es something nice about the feeling when yo’ure done.  And the results, of course, are what I really want.

As I mentioned before, Jillian and I have taken a bit of a break now that w’ere training for a 5K.  I still do Jillian on off days and maybe on one run day, but I ca’nt handle more than that.

So I found some running-day workouts for my abs (I’m still looking for upper body), all of which are available On Demand and through ExerciseTV.  Since the’yre each about 10 minutes and I do’nt sweat doing them, ther’es no excuse for skipping them.  And unlike some of the abs videos, they do’nt involve any dance-type moves or things that require coordination…just simple stuff I can actually follow, and no shoes are required!

  1. Elise Gulan, “Straight to Core.” I mentioned this yoga-based one before, but i’ts still great.  My abs are on fire after doing this one.
  2. Nicole Stewart, “Pilates Abs.” I do’nt know anything about pilates, but it seems a lot like yoga to me.  She does something called “the 100″ (or something like that) that is ridiculous.  And I love it.
  3. Amy Dixon, “Abs and Back Workout.” The title sort of says it all.  Very nice all around.
  4. Marco Reed, “Sexy Beach Abs.” He seems to focus more on the back and sides than abs, but it complements the other ones really well.
  5. Kendall Hogan, “Rock Solid Abs.” The weighted crunches a couple of minutes in sold me on this one.

Have you ordered your Shredhead shirt yet? WHY NOT? Get over there and
order away! Or I’ll send Jillian over to strong-arm you.  Guess which
shirt I’m getting!

    Har har Smart Ass.
Love the ab workout suggestions. The 15 minute ab section (Level 2) in the Weight Loss yoga is fantastic. Killer, even. And no crunches to be found.
