Trying to keep it going
My post last week wasn’t quite enough to kick myself in the ass and get moving. I had the best intentions but it didn’t work out at all. But two things happened to me in the past couple of days that may have given me the nudge that I need.
First, I read Karen Sugarpants post with her before and after pictures and I felt inspired. Granted my before and after pictures will be the complete opposite of hers but that’s not really what this is all about. Anyway, she went on a girls weekend and didn’t let the good times, bad food, or beers keep her from getting moving. As a matter of fact, she said she was itching to get moving. I really miss that itch. The itch that comes with the desire to workout because you don’t feel whole without that rush.
The second thing that happened to me – I stepped on the scale. I’ve gained almost 20 pounds which is 2/3 of the weight I gained in my first pregnancy. HOLY CRAP!! I know I can’t compare one pregnancy to another and everything is different but mentally, it’s a slap in the face. I mean, I’m only 21 weeks into this thing. This isn’t right.
Like I said last week, the Shred is 20 minutes. Most workouts OnDemand are 30-40 minutes. I can give 20-30 minutes of my day to take care of myself. So I gave it the 30 minutes it took and did the Last Chance Workout. I also ordered $50 worth of produce that was delivered to the house on Tuesday. It’s time to not only give my body that 30 minutes, but spend more time working on a healthy diet.
Something’s gotta give in this pregnancy and it shouldn’t be my health and well being.

Do you need me to kick you in the bum? Cuz I will.
You can do it! Do you have a workout buddy? Maybe if you felt obligated to meet someone, it would help? I know that pregnancy exhaustion all too well!
Have you checked out http://www.babyfit.com ? That was a HUGE help to me in my last pregnancy. It helped keep my eating under control and my weight gain to a more “normal” limit, instead of the huge amounts I gained with my first pregnancy. Also, as “normal” workout DVD;s become more challenging or need more modification, I found Erin O’Brien’s Prenatal Fitness Fix to be a pretty good workout.
