Bill and Kristen’s REAL Before Pictures
Hopefully you saw the before pictures we posted on April 1. While I’d love to actually have Bob’s physique, life isn’t quite like that. During my marathon training my legs got ripped, but I ended up losing all muscle definition in my upper body and gained almost 10 pounds (more on how that happens in another post). While I preach that you should take before pictures, this time I found myself balking a bit at taking (and showing) one.
But if I hide it, what will I get out it? So in all my shirtless glory, here’s my before picture.
I know it isn’t awful, but I hate seeing negative changes and, if you know me at all, you know all I see are the flaws. Anyway, I’m at 193 pounds right now, and I’d like to be down closer to 183-185. And of course I want some definition. Anywhere.
As for Kristen, well, she’s currently at 160 pounds and would like to be at 150 pounds – not necessarily at the end of April, though. She’s still breastfeeding so has to watch out for that, but still wants to work on strength and lose some weight during April.
If you’ve got a before picture you’d like to share (like Laura, Liz, and Kari have), you can post them to our Flickr Pool. Once you join it you’ll be able to see all sorts of motivational pictures, and share some of your own!

Good luck to both of you and to everyone else! Hopefully my sprained ankle will heal up soon so I can join in on the fun!
Oh, you guys. You’ve suckered me in and I’m totally doing this with y’all. Can’t wait for the results!
My copy should be arriving today – I am hoping to work it into my “off” days during my half marathon training. Not sure I’m brave enough to post pics but I might! At this point the worst that could really happen is I don’t lose anything (which is where I’m at right now – 10 pounds up from my goal…)
I’m proud of myself for how well I’m doing – Day 6 is tonight, and then I switch to Week 2 tomorrow night. Wednesdays are my “rest” days, since I have hockey. I started a bit early since I am away April 15-16-17 (hockey tournament, so at least I will get lots of cardio in) and then I will likely lose a couple days over Easter when my in-laws are visiting, unless I can get everyone out of the house without me. But overall, my dedication is strong! (Because my pants are tight.)
Back at it! I’ve had a helluva winter – pulled away from most things exercise – and now I need Jillian.
Copies of the Ripped DVD are hard to come by, but until I get a copy, I’m alternating Shred/6-pack – e.g., Shred L1, 6-pack, Shred L2, 6-pack, etc.
Let’s see if I can get my chutzpah on and post a before pic,
I’m still waiting on my copy of the DVD. Amazon made a mistake and didn’t ship it out when they were supposed to, so now they’re saying it’ll be here by the end of the week.
Not sure if Jillian will make me hurt as much as my current boot camp trainer is, but I’m ready to double down and get some faster results!
I’m starting the ripped in 30 dvd tonight! A little behind, I know, but I had to wait for it to come in the mail. I started my weight loss journey in February and I’ve already lost 12 lbs! I’ve been semi-strictly counting calories and hitting the gym 3-6 times a week. Now that I’m more than halfway through I’m looking to really start to tone my body. I can’t wait to follow along with everyone here for motivation! Thanks!
I got my copy of ripped in 30 about a month ago, got all the way to level 2 but quit. I have been doing bfbm and nmtz for the last few weeks. Think I might switch back to ripped in 30. I’ve lost 20 lbs in the last 6 weeks just want to lose another 10, maybe this video wil help
