A Week of Healthy Eating
Well, almost a week. Okay, it was a work week, is that better?
Anyway, on Monday I mentioned that I was going to switch things up, and I did. And I didn’t. My breakfasts changed to oatmeal with banana, and I really think that helped a lot. Lunch stayed the same (salad with some fake meat on top), but my portion size went down and the number of croutons went WAY down.
Dinner went more toward the soup end of the scale rather than the pizza end. Was it as good? Well, kind of. Okay, not exactly, but nobody ever claimed losing weight was easy, right?
I’ve also backed off from the workouts a bit. Instead of Bob’s hour-long DVDs, I’m doing Jillian’s Ripped in 30. Why? Well, even though I like Bob’s workouts better, I can’t do the hour right now. When I work out that long, I feel justified in eating more than I should, so I’m easing off a bit for a while. Jillian’s workout is still tough, and the long DVDs will still be there once I get back in the groove of things.
So having done all of that, I’ve lost about 3 pounds this week, and I feel better. Not physically, but mentally. I feel better about being in control. I feel like I can do this again.

Good job! I need to reset as well, I have been “shredding” for a year now and love it! Lost 30 lbs. so far but am now in my second plateau…..I eat less , work out 3 x week and drink about 120oz water….I know muscle weighs more than fat but NOTHING is moving…any advice?????
Great job on losing 30!
Maybe your body has gotten used to the routine? I’d try a few things – do one day where you actually eat a little more (key word is little, heh) to confuse your body’s metabolism a bit. Perhaps throw an extra workout day in, or vary your workout. If you’ve been doing the same workouts for a while, try new ones to work different muscles. If you’ve been focusing on strength, swap out one of the days for pure cardio. Or vice versa.
But past all of that, know that whatever is happening on the scale, by eating well and working out you are making your insides healthier!
Good for you! Eating is 99% of the battle for so many of us! I recently scaled way back on sugar and am trying to go towards more whole foods and I finally saw the scale change by a few pounds the last 10 days. Keep it up!!
Hi! I am about to do day one of the shred – procrastionating? i suppose so…. I’ve done it before, so i know it’s hard… but i am so excited to see results, which i know will happen if i stick with it. i also have decided to cut out sugar. today is day one. by cutting out sugar i mean, cake, cookies, pop, etc. all the stuff that tastes good.
well.. i think i have procrastionated long enough… gotta go last up the shoes!
