Ripped in 30 – Our April Results

Well, April is finally over. Okay, it was over a few days ago, but I kind of got sidetracked with real life. ;)

Anyway, both Kristen and I know you’re awaiting our results, so without further ado, I present…

Kristen

Kristen starting week 1, week 2, and week 4

Kristen took some days off of Ripped in 30 during the challenge, but on the off days she ran. Also, she didn’t really watch her eating as her baby was breastfeeding “all.the.time.” :) Despite that, she still lost 5 pounds and feels much tighter now than before. She doesn’t see a difference in her pics, but she wants to know – do you?

Bill

Bill, before and after

I don’t see a difference in these pictures, which isn’t surprising as I ate like a maniac during the first three weeks of the challenge. My overall weight loss for the month is about 1 pound, which is disappointing, but I definitely feel a lot stronger and tighter than when I started. I can actually do “regular” pushups again, my abs are starting to firm up, and I can feel definition. All I have to do is keep it up and actually lose the layer of flab covering it all up. Also, what’s up with my bright red face?

Anyway, of course we both plan to keep working out. I’m committed to another 30 days of working out (okay, I’m committed to forever, but it’s easier when I break it down into monthly challenges) and hopefully you are too!

Honestly, I can see a difference in both your pictures. You look fantastic! I’m only on Day 2 of this, but I desperately need good shoes. The foot on my stabilising leg has started to hurt a lot – so I’m lunging with my right leg, my left foot will hurt or if I’m doing static punches, both feet will hurt – and it’s getting too much for me to ignore now. I also have slight shin pain and I’m sure that has something to do with my terrible shoes too. Any recommendations? What kind of shoes should I even be looking for? Cross-trainers?

It sounds a little cliche’, but I recently bought a pair of K-Swiss Tubes. They are awesome. I’ve never owned a pair of K-Swiss shoes … but I tried on a billion different pairs, and as soon as I put them on and walked around, I was hooked! I LOVE them.

My mother, who walks about 5 miles/day had recently bought a new pair of shoes that she hadn’t broken out yet … whenever I got home with mine, she tried them on & fell in love with them too. She brought back her pair and bought the K-Swiss also … (which resulted in text messages for 2 weeks straight that simply read, “I LOVE LOVE LOVE MY SHOES”.

Thanks! They are cheaper than the Nikes I’ve been eyeing so maybe I’ll give them a try. Jillian recommends them too, but I wans’t sure how much of that was purely endorsement.

So you have the K-Swiss cross-trainers?

I think you guys look great! I can definitely see a difference in your abdomen Kristen! And your chest and shoulders Bill!

I’ve recently found this website and think it absolutely ROCKS! I read, read, read the first day I found it!

I went straight out & bought the 30 Day Shred, 6 Week Six Pack, and Ripped in 30 DVDs. I did the Shred for about a week before I got “distracted”. I had family come to town, and nursing school start back up! However, I’m starting over! I’ve even printed out a calendar … I like to have something to “mark off the list”! I’ve decided that I’m going to do 30 Day Shred, along with 6 Week Six Pack at the same time. (Lake Vacation in 6 1/2 weeks is good motivation!) After the first 30 days, I plan to move to Ripped in 30, while I finish my 6 weeks of abs.

Anyway, just wanted to let you guys know that you look great and I think you both rock! Thanks for the page! :)

Anyway, just wanted to know if you guys

I found your website AFTER I bought the 30 day Shred and figured I should do a little research before starting the workout. So glad I found it! I just finished the 30 Day Shred tonight and while I haven’t redone my measurements or taken my “after” pics yet, I feel great, and can feel the difference in how my clothes fit. My main goal was to tone up and “redistribute”, and if I lose weight along the way, great. I actually forgot until day 3 to weigh myself even though I did all the other measurements! And it took me 35 days to complete due to a weekend getaway and one night that had a valid excuse, but I stuck with it and have to say, feel more energized than I have since I got pregnant in Jan. 09 and was too sick to work out other than walk. I was always a work out junkie with spinning, kickboxing, etc., but with a baby (now toddler) and working, I just was not fitting anything in. This I was able to commit to, even though it was usually late at night (9:30ish). While I’m glad the 30 days are over, I do plan on continuing the workouts, but not every day – hopefully 3x a week as I like the program that Jillian put together. I hope to get back to spinning once a week and maybe some walks/runs with the stroller to vary it up a bit.
