10 Days of the 30 Day ReShred
I moved up to Level 2 today (I started on Oct 31, so I’m a day ahead of the month)…funny how way back long ago I thought Level 2 felt shorter than Level 1. What a dope I was. LOL
I love how intense Level 1 is with the pushups and squats with shoulder press, but this time around Level 2 is feeling excellent as well. I’m really focusing on form, and my abs are feeling it much more than any other time before. Plus, there’s nothing hard on my knees, hooray!
Anyway, 10 days of focusing on Shred plus eating correctly has me down about a pound, but more importantly I feel a LOT better. I’m not crashing in the afternoons and/or waking up feeling hungover from the sugar. I’m probably saving a boatload of money on crap food. And mentally I’m feeling a lot better about myself.
That’s not to say I’m not tempted. I was at the grocery store yesterday and I actually stopped and considered buying some frosting I saw on the end of an aisle. It’s so amazing to me how powerful that urge is, even though I KNOW it’s bad for me, that I can’t handle it. Fortunately, I was able to move on by but I know that it’s always going to be there.
Brains can be strange.
So for now I keep reminding myself that this feels better. I focus on what I’m doing, and that I’m not doing mega-marathon training so I can’t justify extra calories.
How are you doing?

I don’t feel level 2 so much in my abs but in my arms. I’m plugging away at the Shred three times a week. I have a horrible time doing the V-fly with chair squat in the last circuit, I have a hard time maintaining good form. :-/
The v-fly things are definitely hard. When I find myself struggling with them, I either do a shallower squat (for some reason that helps my arms…maybe the angle changes something), or I’ll do one arm up at a time.
I found it makes a bigger difference in the abs if I really make sure during planks that my hands are no higher up than my shoulders. It’s easy to let them drift up to even with your eyes, but bringing them back makes a BIG difference.
I don’t know what muscle those v-flies work, but it makes my arms feel like jell-o and then I don’t squat properly. haha.
I just got down into plank and you’re right, my hands are up way too far. I didn’t realize how much of a difference this makes as it also my butt stick up too far. Thanks.
I am on Day 10 today also! Although, I moved up to Level 2 yesterday b/c I JUST COULD NOT do Level 1 one more time! I’ve never made it this far before (just 3 or so days on Level 1 two years ago).
I never felt sore in Level 1 at all, but my glutes & upper body are sore today!
I have real troubles w/ the v flies also. I will switch to a delt fly to work the same muscle group, b/c I want to do a deep squat.
After 10 days I thought my bad knees would be wretchedly painful, but they FEEL BETTER! After all the ‘gentle’ physical therapy that never helped, who’da thunk it!
Anyway, so glad I found this blog! =)
Hooray for making it to day 10!
I’m so glad that Shredheads is back up and running! It helped me sooo much in the past! I just started Shredding again this week
So it’s great to know we’re not doing it alone!
Hey,
I finally decided to really commit myself and started shred today. Level 1 is intense especially when you are not used to working out. I hate to admit but I did had to stop a few times due to feeling dizzy. I am glad I found this blog. Hopefully it will keep me motivated for the next few levels.
Welcome!
It’s definitely tough, but the improvement you’ll see over the next few days is going to blow you away. Keep us updated!
I’m on day 8 of level 1 of the 30 day shread, and at 100lbs over weight, I’m pretty dang proud I’ve made it so far! It was a killer the 1st 3 days, I hated every second of it. I still don’t LOVE it but it is so much easier, can’t wait to hit level 2 ;0)
Really glad to have found this blog….I need the support and love reading about what others go through, helps to know you’re not alone.
