Get Ready for July!

Okay, the July challenge is really back to basics.  Starting either July 1 or 2 (your choice), 30 days of 30 Day Shred.

A lot of you are experts and already have it and know the routine, but if you don’t…here’s what you’ll need*:

  • 30 Day Shred DVD
  • Hand weights.  If you don’t have any, try soup cans.  Or you can do it without when you’re first starting out.
  • Workout clothes.  Nothing fancy required, make sure they provide support and are comfortable.
  • Shoes.  Unless you’ve got experience working out barefoot, use shoes at the beginning for the support (and traction).
  • Space in front of the TV.  Watch ceiling heights!
  • Motivation.

Anything past that is really just a plus (and probably unnecessary, since I can’t think of anything else).

So I’ll be doing it along with you, posting as I go.  It’s going to be tough doing it for all 30 days because of my riding, but I’m going to attempt to do it even on my riding days.  Expect some extra incoherent posts on those days.  :)

I am going to give it a shot as well – just going to be careful not to injure myself with starting gung ho! And I have to wait until 7/3 to start, but I’ll go until 8/1. :) Let’s see what I can do before I turn 35 in August!

I’m in, but I’ll start with twice a week with liberal use of the pause button (plus Pilates and yoga once a week each) and go from there :)

I’m in! I’ve attempted this before on my own and it’s been sooo hard and I always end up failing. But maybe we can all give it a go together! Wooo!

I’m in! I’ve been waffling on whether or not to do it in July, and I’m taking this as a sign to dive in. I’m more eager to lose inches than pounds and hope like hell when we’re finished, my jeans fit better.

I’m in. I’ll be starting while on vacation (boo) but I don’t want to put it off any longer. Better go pack the DVD and weights while I’m thinking about it. Good luck everyone!

I’m totally in! Starting 6/30 and going until 8/1 because I’ll be camping for a weekend mid-month. I’ve never made it past 5 days Level 1, so I’m excited to have people helping to motivate me. GO TEAM!

I’m in! Been planning on making some changes in July, and I need something to do when on the road. Hoping that reporting in to you guys will keep me accountable. Totally pumped for this! (Or at least the results.)

Just cleared out some good floor space and dusted off my hand weights. NO REASON.

I just happened to start Level 1 tonight. WOW! Amazing workout! I know tomorrow I will be very sore (I also ran a 10K yesterday) but I’m sticking with it and will be back in front of the TV tomorrow.

I didn’t realize y’all were doing a July challenge until today! I re-started The Shred on June 26th in preparation for an upcoming road trip. I’m headed to New England for some hiking (Acadia Nat’l Park, Baxter State Park, Green Mountains, White Mountains) and I wanted to be in the best shape I could be in in a relatively short amount of time. I never felt more fit than I did after completing the 30 Day Shred. I’m on Day 3 of Level 2. Yesterday I was swearing at my TV screen. Level 2 is the WORST. I can’t wait until my body adjusts to those planks.
