Days 9 and 10, Shred and Shred

Holy cow, I made it to the end of Level 1…WOO*!  Of course, it isn’t really easy, and I could probably use another 10 or 1,000 days of doing it, but tomorrow I move on to Level 2!

So what have I noticed?  A big improvement in my chest and shoulder strength.  The first set still kills me, but I can do it.  And my abs, which have always been my weakest part, are showing some signs of improvement.  I can now keep up with the bicycle crunches, and my form is (I think) good on all the ab work.  Now, if I could get that pesky layer of flab off of them you might actually be able to see them!  LOL

I’m looking forward to Level 2…I remember the first time going through Shred I thought it felt shorter.  That, of course, guarantees that I’m going to hate it, but at least it will be a different kind of hate.

Who else is ready to move up?

*Yes, I combined two more days because it was too confusing to me to be a couple days ahead of the writing…

My big victory yesterday was going out to dinner and being a picky Biggest Loser–style eater: “Excuse me, is the chicken deep fried? Yes? Is it possible to get it grilled, plain? Great! And can I have the salad with dressing on the side? Awesome!” They happily accommodated my requests, I stayed within my calorie goal for the day, and the waitress got a 30% tip for her help :)

Pilates at lunch and the Shred this afternoon.

Tomorrow will be my last day of Level 1, though I feel ready to move on. I did miss my workout yesterday, so I may try to do a double Shred tonight — Levels 1 and 2 together, insanity?

My 1 and 3-year-olds have become my biggest cheerleaders. They sit in the corner and clap when I do the anterior raises, which is the hardest strength move for me. My son also likes to hold an umbrella over me while I do situps, for some reason. He says he is cooling me off!
